Analog "manifesto"

One of the worst things about modern technology is that everything is just a flat object with a touchscreen, and the experience is, overall, subpar compared to what sci-fi stories led us to believe.

Slabs of metal with glass can be pretty but, when everything is a slab of metal with glass, objects become less alluring, either as decorative pieces or practical gadgets.

I might be getting old, so it might influence my preferences, but I want more things like a Sony hi-fi stack: I want bulky square-ish electronics with physical knobs that have a sense of weight and feedback while interacting with it.

I want things you connect with cables so they won't suffer interference from the wifi or the microwave.1 I want things that occupy physical space that have a practical usage, but that can also be decoration while not in use.

I want buttons to push.

This post was inspired by seeing people sharing photos of their Sony audio stack online.
