Seriously. And you can buy it from Amazon (I think it’s print-on-demand?). And it’s a proper manual, just look at this, it’s gorgeous.
It’s worth mentioning that this is the same manual that’s accessible inside the game, but in a physical format. I bought it some time ago because, to be honest, flipping through pages — that you have to consult to be able to properly play — is less boring with real paper.
(If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s this game).
To be frank, I miss the time when video games came with manuals. I still have the original big box of Neverwinter Nights, bought even before I had played D&D for the first time (TTRPG is pretty expensive in Brazil), and read that manual repeatedly to absorb its information.
I also have the big box of Renegade: The Battle for Jacob’s Star with its manual, which has tons of so-called “lore” that isn’t explained in the game (because it doesn’t matter), and it’s in Brazilian Portuguese. The game itself was dubbed, and it was pretty awesome to see this happening in the mid-90s. But the manual having a very good translation was incredible.
I wish more games still printed manuals. It’s an added cost, I know, but man, there are some sickos out there that crave any kind of physical connection with digital goods (and I’m one of them.)
